The Action Plan provides guidance to the Ashokan Watershed Program staff to help them prioritize their work. Plans are developed in two year cycles with an update to the plan in between. The current plan is the 2011-2013 Action Plan. Included in the plan is an update on progress since the 2009.
The Action Plan is derived from the management recommendations in the Ashokan Watershed stream management plans but also incorporates new information about the watershed and feedback from citizens, local, state and county government, and other organizations. The program also tries to maintain consistentcy with the Principles of Stream Stewardship in Catskills Streams.
The Ashokan Watershed Advisory Council and the Working Groups play a role in developing the annual action plan for the project. The process for plan development begins in August and goes through the end of April each year. The program staff welcome comments from the public about the annual action plan. Comments will be used by the staff and Advisory Council as they make changes to and update the plan each year. Contact Elizabeth Higgins, Program Coordinator (elizabeth.higgins@ashokanstreams.org) with your comments and suggestions for improvements or changes to the plan.
