The Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program promotes a coordinated approach to stream protection and management within the Ashokan Reservoir Watershed, which covers portions of Ulster and Greene Counties in New York. Towns in the watershed include: Shandaken, Olive, Hurley, Woodstock, Hunter and Lexington.

 

 

Another Sucecssful Ashokan Watershed Conference

 

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 4th Annual Ashokan Watershed Conference a success. We are especially thankful to the staff at the Ashokan Center and the Ashokan-Pepacton Chapter of Trout Unlimited for helping out with the late afternoon activities. Family Fun and Fish Day is Back!

 

Back by popular demand, the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP) in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will be hosting our 2nd Annual “Family Fun & Fish Day” at Kenneth Wilson State Park located at 859 Wittenberg Road in Mount Tremper, NY. The event will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 11:00am to 1:30pm.

 

DEC Fisheries staff will introduce youth and others to the sport of fishing and provide education on fish identification and aquatic ecology. Other family friendly activities occurring during the day include a barbeque and arts and crafts under the pavilion starting at noon. Please let us know in advance if you have any special needs related to the day’s activities.

 

All fishing supplies will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own if you have them. The event is free of charge and no fishing license is required. To enter the Kenneth Wilson State Park for free you will need to register by June 4, 2013.  A list of registered attendees will be at the main gate before you enter the park.
